The prepress section occupies 5,000 sq.ft floor space and the equipment includes drum scanner SG 8060 II from Dainippon Screen, flatbed scanner EverSmart Pro from Scitex. Digital proofers from Epson and Hewlett Packard. Output is from Platerite 8600 CTP from Dainippon Screen. We accept PDF files. Preflighting and editing of PDF files is done using Speed Flow from One Vision. Imposition softwares used are Preps and Impose 2000. The powerful Macs and PC's are connected through 100/1000 Mbps Switch network to 1 Terrabyte Dell Powervault 725N Network Attached Storage with the tape backup on to Dell LTO Ultrium. The presses are connected in line to prepress and CIP 4 data is transmitted to them.

In all 5 sheetfed multicolour presses do the job of printing at the City Press. The 6 colour Mitsubishi Diamond 3000 is a U.V press with inline chamber coater and is used for printing on paper/board and also nonabsorbent substrate. The 5 colour Komori Lithrone is also a 28x40 inch size press and the 5 colour Mitsubishi Diamond 1000 with inline coater is of 20 x 28 inch size. The 4 colour Mitsubishi Diamond 1000 with inline chamber coater also is 20 x 28 inch format. For perfection printing or 2 colour printing a Miller TP 232 is used.

All the three Mitsubishi machines are connected to MCCS2 which is a closed loop colour control device. These machines have intelligent press control and support JDF.

Folding is done on Horizon automatic computerized combination folding machines. Gathering, stitching and three knife trimming are done on Muller Martini Valore saddle stitcher. Die cutting is done on an auto platen from Bobst. Perfect binding is done on a 6 clamp hot glue binder. Section sewing is on a Martini sewing machine. Spot UV and special effects like foiling are also done inhouse. The post press occupies around 25,000 sft. of built up space.
